What's so Great about Uni Paint?

Posted by

I have talked about Uni Paint from time to time because I don't think too much praise can be given to a product with so many uses and good pricing. For nearly two decades we've offered these items, and they've proven themselves over and over. Whether you need to make your mark permanent or removable, these markers do the job.

I admit there are many marker lines out there. Most of them work well. We sell some of them. But there is something to be said for a line of markers that have pretty well become the industry standard in certain areas. I think the reason lies in both the formulation and the styling.

Paint in a marker is a wonderful idea to begin with. Laying down a paint in a chosen color in a fashion that fills a need and makes no mess is a super idea. If it dries quickly, as these do, and it shows from a distance, as these do, then it's done the job. With oil based paint, your mark stays put until forcibly removed. With water based paint the mark goes down until some glass cleaner is applied along with a little pressure. Rain is not enough.

The color range is more than adequate for the kinds of jobs these markers are called upon to do. White, yellow, pink, red, green, purple, blue, light blue, black, silver or gold. Yes, only certain tip sizes have all those colors, and yes, some only come in the sets, but these are industrial tools. You can mark parts or leave instructions.

Those are the medium line. They also come Bold and Fine.

I think the versatility of the colors and tip sizes combined with a smooth formula ink that stays down has given Uni Paint a top spot in the paint marker pyramid.

The water based side is called Uni Posca (pos'/ka - both vowels are short, pos like possible and ca like collie)

One this side the 17K boasts a 5/8" tip, beveled on both sides for maximum ability to change up the line width. It's very popular for marking windshields. The 5M medium line is bullet tipped for ease of use. The 3M is only a 3mm line in case you need a skinny line in a tight place. And the 85F is the insurance agents/auto body repair person's handiest tool. It's a bold chisel with fluorescent colored paint that stands out when you highlight body damage from an accident or write repair instructions on the glass. Car wash places use this time saver when they record the order on the passenger side window.

Both markers are great for sports posters or advertising for events. The Posca goes down on poster paper with ease.

If you need to make a bright mark that will last, consider trying these items. You'll be glad you did.
