When Sharpie first introduced its new gel highlighter, I was skeptical. I like my notes neat; I don't like smudge, and this highlighter had smushy written all over it. So I was surprised to discover that it had a versitility that its counterparts didn't. That gel tip can roll and turn so that you can get both large and small lines as well as great coverage over large areas of text.
I discovered this highlighter is great on thin pages like Bibles and those journals that have parchment. You have to wait a second or two for it to dry down, but then it's nice a smooth and visible. Since my eyes appreciate contrast when I read, I like the nice colors. They have enough light to give wonderful visibility, but they don't take a megaphone and shout their presence. The green is lovely and unassuming--a cool, clear color that lets the print come through.
You can order yellow, pink, blue, orange or green without having to buy a card with multiple colors that you may not use. I think each color has a different visibility, so you are certain to find one that fits how you work. I use yellow and orange for small text, and the blue and green for lists that I'm dealing with for inventory. The pink is cheerful, so it is used for editing letters and other documents or calling attention to something I need to do right away. If you want to highlight, and you need to reference different categories or ideas, you can use all five so scanning text is easier.
Now doesn't that make you want to highlight something right now? Yum!
