If you have to use a highlighter for work, school, or general studies, this little product has some nice advantages. The neck is clear with a small line of the colored ink running through the middle, which makes it sooooo easy to see what you're highlighting. You can follow the tip and stay on line by using the color as a guide. The ink is Sharpie's Smear Guard, so most print is protected, and it handles easily.
I think you can see that the chisel is slightly tipped and beveled so you can choose the size line you want to apply. I also found that the barrel tucks into the hand in such a way as to aid in supporting the level of pressure to the page. This may not apply if you have very large hands, but I believe most people will find it comfortable and nice to use.
Why all the hooplah about this highlighter? I use all the different highlighters that come into the warehouse. They all have different features, and they all can make someone happy. This one is my happy highlighter because I like to line up my swipes with the print, and most highlighters don't allow clear siting. Even if I am highlighting a bunch of text, I like it straight, or I am distracted when I go back to read. Print should jump and be meaningful, not messy and shouting at me. That can happen, especially with the bright colors used in making these things. I like to see clearly, so flourescents are a must for me, but I don't want my highlighting to look like those conversation bubbles over the heads of cartoons. ZOOM ZAP YEOOOOW!
No need to shout. Just show me the money....or the text I've taken time to highlight. This one does the job, and for anyone who is detail conscious or deeply organized or just likes a sense of order--this is the highlighter for you.
