Brush Tip Markers are a Hit!

Posted by

I admit I was excited when I saw the promo sheets for all the brush tip products. Both Sharpie and Prismacolor have these wonderful tips, and when I sat down and tried them I was impressed.

Sharpie put the brush on both its fabric markers and a new group of open stock markers that you can have fun with on other projects. You can get both great line and super coverage. The colors are delicious. My hope is that there will be such great response that the color palette for this product will widen. Imagine having all 28 colors in a brush style marker! Oh, the pictures that form in my head. Try them and you'll agree.

Prismacolor has also done a couple of things every artist will appreciate. The first is to put a little wing of plastic on each end of their markers to help the user take the end cap off the marker. I used to struggle with the caps, and it spoiled the experience, even though the wonderful color and smooth lay down made for an entirely satisfying creative journey. I knew the cap had to be tight to preserve the ink, but I was still frustrated. I have small hands, and having to pull at that cap, or using a bottle top remover, wasn't a happy moment. Now there is a remedy. You can grab the marker, pull the cap, and begin to work in one fluid movement.

And fluid is what that brush tip is. What a beautiful piece of equipment!
